Is there a way to ignore a model in a group?

I've currently got all of my models in a group called "All" so that I can do whole-house effects. In one particular part I'm doing a curtain sweep across the house. I want to exclude from that sweep my pillars because I would like to do something specific with them at that time. Is this possible?

If you move your Pillars model down so that it is "below" the All group on your Sequence Elements programming list , when it Compiles and Saves your FSEQ file, it will replace the Pillars data with what you want.

Or, you can create a new "All minus Pillars" group

Thanks Jon. I had thought about creating a new group but I was hoping there had to be another way. I couldn't imagine creating a new group every time you wanted one of the models to go rogue from the group.

Yep that's the whole purpose of the rendering order.  Always put your large groups at the top.  To view your rendering order you need to be in the Master View and it renders top to bottom.  Use the display elements window to change the ordering.  I like to set the render order in the Master View and then use all my other views for sequencing.  All other views don't affect rendering order they are for display purposes only.

So I'm assuming that I need to use the "Off" effect depending on what it is that I'm doing. For example, if I have an effect on All for 10 seconds but within that 10 seconds I want to show a different effect on one of my models for 2 seconds right in the middle. Then on that lower model I would add an Off effect for 4 seconds, then the effect I want it to do for 2 seconds and then another Off effect for 4 more seconds. If I don't do this then the time around the effect of the lower model will be filled in by the effect from the group. Correct?
