New "NewLayout" build for Mac uploaded...
« on: March 17, 2016, 04:54:43 PM »

I just uploaded a new "NewLayout" build for the Mac.   This gets the new Layout tab pretty close to feature complete.   You can add models (click on the button in the toolbar and then click/drag where you want it), copy/cut/paste models using normal cmd-x/c/v, you can do some filtering of what is displayed, etc..

There is also a couple other new things:
1) Candy Cane model (from Keith)

2) Window frames can have 0 node on the bottom.  :)

Anyway, if you could give it a try and see if the work flow is usable, that would be great.

Thanks!
Dan

Actually, hold on a bit.  Apparently the new log4cpp stuff is causing crashes with the release build.  :(   Debug build works fine.

Very cool! I love having the models buttons. The copy and paste works really well. I noticed the singing tree is blank when you select it. I suppose you have to put in the values on the sheet, right?
It would be great to be able to delete the model after placing it. I tried but no luck. I am sure I am doing something wrong.

Delete isn't there yet, but Cut is.   cmd-x would cut it which effectively deletes it.

Ah man! I was hitting all sorts of function keys but never thought about that. Doh!

Sorry for the dumb question but what do mean by feature complete?  I thought the Mac and Windows versions were essentially the same?  Thanks for clarifying.

The normal "release" builds and such are essentially the same.  However, for the last several weeks I've been working on a completely new Layout panel which is definitely not ready to to be released.  This is being done on a branch so that regular releases that contain other changes can still be done.  (like the audio updates, the Test dialog, etc...)   The  "NewLayout" build I did is from that branch.   Once it's more or less ready, it will be merged to the master branch and included in the Windows/Linux builds as well.    Right now, it's Mac only as those are the only builds I do.
