Singing faces on P10 Matrix
« on: April 17, 2016, 09:51:39 PM »
Hello folks, made the decision to go P10 for my singing faces.  I'll have 4 4x6 P10 panels.

After Gils discussion today, I understand more about the P10's , plus Roger Aubuchon has been a valuable source.  Everything going OK.

Here's my deal. Last year I used the HC Monster Coro with LED's.   I already have the singing faces elements.

How do I transfer that info over to a singing matrix.  I realize I need mouth images etc.  Do I just need to take my existing mouth shapes from last years monster quartet, and associate those movements with the mouth images used  for the P10.  IE O shape mouth would be associated with an O shaped mouth image?

I don't need to use papagayo layout for the lyrics, they are already done with the associated mouth movements.  Just need to adapt those mouth movements to the new P10 images.

Thanks for your help.
Best,
David

First get the timing tracks with the lyric breakdowns copied into your new sequence.  With the latest version you can copy from the timing section.  Copy row works also but it's one row at a time.  Then you just create a face definition for the model.  I created this video 8 months ago on how to do this and most of these steps still apply.

Hi Gil, the on/off effects for the diff phonemes are already presnt on my models from last year. They were imported from LOR sequences. Apologies, should have been more clear. Hence I dont have any timings for the effects, they were already done in the lms sequence.

Should I jst then make a blank lyric timing track, the create a timing marks were all the mouth events are from my original imported sequences? This is were I'm still a little confused. I don't have timings to copy.

Thanks for a great webinar.
Best,
David

So if I'm reading it right you have only On/Off effects and not timings.  I'm sorry but I can't think of any way to use those effects to make matrix faces work.  For the Papagayo stuff it's the timing breakdowns that are precious.  Once you have those you can convert them to control all the various types of singing faces.  Really only one person needs to breakdown a song and then they could share it with everyone.  If you can find someone that's done the song(s) you want then you could copy the timings into your sequence.  I did that last year with a This is Halloween sequence someone posted here that had 19 voice tracks.

Thank You Gil. Well that is disappointing news for me.    I'll see if I can locate some of the music/timings.

Let me ask this, since I already have the Off/ON effects, could I use those as markers for new timing marks.

Also, if I go through and add the timings based on my existing effects. Could I take lyric sections, copy/paste them in the timings, and would they be aligned with those timing marks. Would make things a little easier, since I already know the timings of the face events.

Example: I lay out my timings for this is Halloween. I just select  the first lyric boys and... if I already have the timing marks, I paste in those lyrics, are they constrained to those timings?

The faces I used were from Holiday sequences imported into Xlights last year .  Thanks again for your help Gil.

Best,
David

I think it would take more time to try to create timing where the On/Off effects are then to just redo a lyric timing track from scratch.   If you need This is Halloween I can send you those timings.
