Convert LOR with DMX channels
« on: May 26, 2016, 07:54:02 PM »
I just added some DMX channels to one of my sequences.  I'm trying to import the sequence into xLights (2016.22) but I'm having a problem in trying to figure out the correct way to setup the Network to get them to import correctly.

In my LOR sequence I started the DMX channels starting at Universe 6 with a total of 75 pixels (225 channels).

My LOR Regular network imports with 893 channels and that part imports correctly.  I first tried to create a E131 universe but that didn't work.  So I then adjusted my LOR import network to exactly the 893 channels and then created a DMX import for the 225 DMX Channels.  But the DMX are still not importing.

Can anyone help me in how I need to setup the network to get these to import?  I've attached an image of how I tried setting up my import network.  I'll also attach my import log if that might help anyone.

I appreciate any help.  I'll be adding more DMX channels later on to my sequences so I really need to learn how to do the network configuration correctly so I can get additional ones imported later.

Thank you,
Mike

A lot of trial and error but I guess I'll answer my own question since i finally figured it out and in case this helps anyone else.

From the picture I posted before, what I finally got to work was of course to have my LOR network at the top.  I then moved my Universe 6 just under the LOR network.  I also created 2 other universes for 4 & 5, but not sure if they are totally needed but I set them to 510 channels each.  It then successfully imported in.  But my Universe 6 DMX items were importing in starting at address 2522.  Not sure where it gets that start address but when I moved the LOR back to the bottom and moved my Universe 6 back after the Universe 5 that I had created, it's start channel was only at 1914.  So I created a NULL universe with 608 channels and placed that before my Universe 6 and that put my Universe 6 correctly starting at 2522.  The props I created for this universe then started at 2522 also.  At least in the preview everything seems to be working fine now.  Hopefully this weekend I'll give it a test to export it to my RPi and see if it actually works.
