Newbie layout question
« on: July 18, 2016, 10:22:25 PM »
Bought a new house, changing my layout. I have icicles on the roofline and a 12 foot section that runs away from the picture. So I have 2 longs runs of icicles with a 12 footer in the middle that runs directly away. What is the best way to run this 12 footer?
If I run a single line of icicles running that 12 foot length I feel like it is going to run 'faster' along that line since it will be represented by such a small line as opposed to the long horizontal runs across the face of the house.
I feel like I am overthinking this.  I am overthinking this, aren't I?

Picture attached.

That's a case where you can't represent it exactly without a 3D layout.  I have this same situation.  What I do is draw a line near where it goes backwards and I have it overlapping the other eave lines.  It's not perfect but it still looked fine to me on the lights.  If you create a single line model that covers the entire length set to Unassigned you can use that model to make an effect go across those strings properly.  Its only the whole house effects that will suffer a little misalignment.

That is what I figured without having a full on 3D of the layout and that is a whole different can of worms. I think that I am the only one that will notice the slight overlap if there even is one. Thanks!
