Looking for any info or videos on sequencing only ac lights.

With the Canadian dollar being so low, it will, likely prevent me from getting in to rgb this year. Are there any video tutorials on sequencing ac lights only in Xlights. Doing it in lor is so time consuming and painstaking.

I actually found it easier to sequence my 16 Ch AC lights in LOR as you only have the basic options AC will take (on/off, ramp, shimmer, twinkle) and IMHO they are easier to insert and less to think about.  ;)

Then thanks to some great tutorials by Keith, I've converted them to xLights where I've added my RGB pixel arches. Look for the Webinar series here: https://www.youtube.com/user/AusChristmasLighting/videos

No matter what program you use sequencing is very time consuming, I'm discovering.  :o

Then when you get into pixels on xLights the possible effects are endless... Gil, Keith and the others do an amazing job writing and updating this program. For instance, the new poly-line feature could be very useful for people who have mapped a string in LOR's Visualizer that previously wasn't as easy to duplicate in Xlights.
I know just enough to be dangerous :0

If you want to work in xLights like you do in LOR you need to create a timing track like a 50ms track and then you will be able to select timing cells which will be familiar like you do in LOR.  Then you can just drag out cell selections and hit hotkeys to do up/down/on/off ramps.  Working quickly in xLights as a grid editor is more about learning and/or creating hotkeys.  Once you learn the program better you'll find that you can create some of those same patterns you like to do manually by using one of our effects.  If you use white for the color all our existing effects should work on A/C models.

If someone wants to post their xlights_rgbeffects.xml file that has a nice A/C setup I'll do a video showing ways to sequence on it.
