Snap Effects to Timing Grid?
« on: August 26, 2016, 02:48:10 AM »
I noticed that if you have two effects adjacent to each other, and you move the end position of the first one, the second one's start position moves automatically by default.

Is there a similar feature so if I move one of the marks in my timing grid, any effects that begin/end at that point are resized automatically as well?

You can move multiple start/end points of effects within the sequencer.  You need to select (highlight) each one first.  I always forget if it's the shift or control key you need to hold down to select everything individually.  Or if you deselect a timing track, you can draw a yellow selection box around the points you want to select too.

No you either do what Kevin suggested and select the effect edges along with the timing effect edge and move them all together.  Or you can move the timing mark and then select all the effects and use the alignment options to align the effects to the timing mark edges.

I can select multiple effects by holding down Ctrl (or drawing a yellow box as you describe), but when I try dragging the position (or start/end time) of one, the others deselect and I'm manipulating only one at a time. If I use the keyboard's arrow keys, I can move effects around, though... but I'm asking about start/end times.

Thanks, I just noticed the alignment options in the context menu which could come in handy.

Yeah they are deselecting because you aren't holding down shift when you grab them to move them.  You should watch this video I made 6  months ago.  See how easily I move effect edges around.
