Issues involved after saving file
« on: September 28, 2016, 11:15:42 AM »
My situation involves an issue after I have re-opened a saved .xml or .fseq file.  Two out of five sequences that I have created have this issue.  Once I save my file and re-open the effects and audio view are not seen.  The song still plays and you can see all of the created effects in the house preview, but there is no editing available.  Also, none of the models can be seen.  I have "rendered all" upon opening the file, but that changes nothing.   When working on a new sequence, I switch between a windows computer and a macbook.  I do not know if that messes anything up.  The weird thing is that not all of my files do this, but it does seem to happen when I have finally finished an entire song...heartbreaking.  I have attached a screenshot of what my file looks like after I have opened it up and rendered.  From this screenshot I can still play the song and see the effects, but nothing else can be done.  Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

Almost forgot...When I created these sequences I was using 2016.47.  I have updated since then and have tried fixing the problem using 2016.49, 2016.50, and I even went back to 2016.42.

Double click the model group names on the row heading on the left.  You probably put all the effects at the model level not the group level.

This looks like a video driver issue.   Can you double check that you have the latest video drivers installed?

I tried that and it crashed on me.  I've attached the report.  When I looked at all of my other sequences I did all of my effects on the group side of things, and not the individual model.  I don't think I did this on these two, but with it crashing I can't see that. When I open the file I can't add new models or timings.  It limits me quite a bit.  I also forgot to mention that on these two files sometimes it will stick on "rendering all" and lockup.  You can see that on the attached photo.  It doesn't crash but I have to end the task with task manager.

I'm pretty sure the video driver is the latest.  I don't have the same issue with all of my sequences; only two out of five.  I also have tried this on three separate computers.  One on windows 7, one on windows xp, and one on a mac.

The sequence file included with your crash log has corrupted data at the top and its cutoff at the bottom.  There should not be any unreadable/binary characters in that XML file.  When I view the backup of the sequence included in the crash log zip file it's not corrupted but it has none of the effect data.

Both sequences attached above are corrupt in different ways.  Neither are valid XML.   That's definitely concerning.  You may want to go through your backups and see if you can find a version that isn't corrupt.

I have the file saved as "Glorious Night 9.15.16"  What is strange is the entire sequence will play as I set it up with the effects on the house preview.

The file of that name in the first post is corrupted.   See my attached screenshot.

I did have a backup on one of my sequences (only half complete) but the other one kept giving me a failed load.  Bummer.

Do you know how that happened?  Also, can I just delete that information and all will be good?  That's probably wishful thinking...

I don't know how your file got corrupted.  Bad hard drive is a possibility.  Are you using online cloud storage like a dropbox?

Well use a real hard drive.  Only use a jump drive to backup or move your files.
