LOR Animation Sequence & AC Lights
« on: October 16, 2016, 11:31:25 AM »
I am moving from LOR to xLights this year and have two questions.
  • I have a flicker animation that I used for my blowmold candle flames in LOR that was constantly on in the background. How do I accomplish the same in xLights?
  • I have some blowmold props that I would still like to use and am planning to use my LOR boxes as DMX to control these. Would I make the models for these a single strand of 1 for each prop?

Thanks,
Craig

For #1 do you want to know how to do a flicker or how to run a sequence in the background?  What are you planning use to run your show?   Most of us use an FPP.  For #2 it's up to you....either way works fine.

For the first one I was going to use the fire effect (unless there is a better way), but not sure how to run it in the background all the time.

I will be using FPP this year for everything. Only going to use the LOR boxes to control the AC lights through FPP.

I did this video in the past to show someone how to create their own custom candle flicker effect:

You can export a model's effects as an .eseq file which can be used to play a background sequence in the FPP.
