Bringing timing marks into xlights/nutcracker
« on: September 10, 2014, 09:34:20 PM »
I know I've seen this somewhere, but I'm not finding it now when I need it.

How do you bring a new song into xLights?  For example, one of the audio files in the installation.

Thanks In Advance

1) make sure the audio file is in your show directory!
2) next use the file option, 3rd choice "new musical sequence"
3) if you have audacity timing marks to go with the sound file click the "Audacity" box
4) You have now created a blank sequence attached to the music file
5) Attach 1 or more models to your sequence. Click "Display Elements" and add models
6) Create at least one row in the grid and put one effect.
7) Save as a new sequence.

Thanks Sean.
I just found that.  Dropped a .mp3 in the show directory and magically can now choose that option.

Just wondering--can I add timing marks to a NC sequence I have already started and "keep" the timing I have done so far with the effects set so far?  Or do I need to do that before I start sequencing only??
Thanks very much!!!!

Yes there is an icon right beside the open and save buttons that allows you to insert a row above the row you have highlighted.  Keeps all the other timing marks in tact.  Use it all the time after importing an Audacity timing mark I did and may have missed one area I want a special effect.

Thanks Rando.   I also use that insert row function to add manual timing marks where I want "special" starts/stops/whatever...  I appreciate the info.
