Way to make models brighter in layout preview screen.
« on: November 24, 2016, 12:19:55 AM »
Hey folks, First off wanted to Wish and Every One a Blessed Thanksgiving.

I have an LMS seq. I did using part of superstar to import into LOR.  Based on Brian Bruderers advice, I adjusted the brightness in Superstar to coorelate wit the actual lights. It looks fine on the actual lights.

However, after importing into xlights, rendering, when I play the sequence this particular model is very dim.
Difficult to see the effects working properly. These are 6 arches.  I have the brightness on the layout down to 5, still hard to see the arches at time.  Some effects are bright enough I can see them OK.  Is there a way I can increase the brightness of the model for viewing on playback. I don't need to adjust the actual model, it's brightness on the lights is fine.

I've tried the transparency adjustments, didn't seem to effect anything on making the arches brighter and easier to see in preview.  any help appreciated.

Best,
David

If you are working in xLights we automatically scale the effects back up if you have a dimming curve but if you in effect applied a dimming curve to your data in LOR then its not going to get scaled back up in xLights.

Thanks Gil. I'm having all sorts of issues with this sequence from an LOR import.

Takes about 8 minutes just for the xml file to load.   I can't get the mapping done without lockups or unhandled exception errors.

Had this issue last year too, took forever for the seq. to open, then lockups numerous times when trying to map stuff.  After mapping, it would take over 7 minutes to load the new stuff, that is if it didn't lock up, or give the unhandled exception errors.

The working file is already 165MB, and I haven't even added the mega tree!  Something about this imported sequence, Xlights doesn't like. Now I'm having issues with loading my saved mapping file.

Gonna scrap it, and start from scratch.

Hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving

Best,
David
