Every so often people about running xLights directly on a RaspberryPi so I thought I'd compile it up for interested parties.
It is able to compile fine on Rpi but it is quite unusable.
In testing on a Pi3 I was getting less than five frames per second when playing a sequence - and it got even choppier at times.
This was using the experimental GL drivers built into the current raspbian (so you have to use 'raspi-config' to enable that)
Even using it just to modify a sequence was pretty much unusable - and rendering a sequence took a long time.
So basically it does compile/work - but it isn't worth it

If anyone is interested in trying you can grab the package from https://www.adebenham.com/lights/xlights_2016.55_armhf.deb
You will also need the ffmpeg package from https://github.com/ccrisan/motioneye/wiki/precompiled/ffmpeg_3.1.1-1_armhf.deb
This was all built on the current raspbian running on a Pi3
