Icicle Lights
« on: November 12, 2018, 04:45:11 PM »
Hi All,

Thinking of next year already and was wondering what people do for icicle lights?  I See ray has a few styles available and Boscoyo has mounting strips.  The spacing for the Boscoyo strips appears to be 6 inches between drops which may make any text effects to spaced out.  Does anyone have any suggestions/experience with any of the icicles?  I also noticed that Seans Meighans house has an icicle matrix and was trying to figure out the spacing and that looks good.

It kinda of what you defined as an icicle lights. I built 14 of these to hang in the front tree. they are 2813b. each led is 5/8" apart. I made them 2 sided so you can see them from any angle. The data line is split so it runs down both sides equally. then off the bottom off one side only the data returns up to the next Icicle.  each one is a different length. I had the strips left over from my ferris wheel. The only thing I don't like is they are 5volt.

That’s pretty similar to how I’m doing mine: two-sided strips in a tube.

I’m hanging mine in trees, so not going for any type of matrix
