Multiple buttons for creating timing mark
« on: January 03, 2017, 08:09:29 PM »
Hey all,

I am old fashioned and still like to tap out my timing marks using my keyboard.  Right now, I have everything setup the default way which is hitting 't' to insert a timing mark (which I do after memorizing the song and figuring out in my head the way I want the timings to go).  Some songs are too fast for one button though.  Would there be a way to get multiple keys that do the same thing?  For instance, the left and right arrow both insert a timing mark?

Thanks,

For tough sections I like to loop at slower speed. Listened a couple of times then tap.

If you go into the XML file for the keybindings, you could probably copy the one that uses "t" and add additional ones for other letters (ones that aren't being used).  Not 100% sure that would work, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

Thanks for the replies. I will try the xml edit approach and see if that works.  I like to play the keyboard real time as if it were a musical instrument.

I have slowed down the songs as mentioned above.   The songs sound strange but it works well, especially for rapid syncopations...

I verified that adding additional key bindings will work, so you can use multiple keys to set timing marks.  Just make sure you aren't using something that is already defined.

Thanks for reminding me!  I just went in and set them to 'a' and 'l' and was able to hammer through the most difficult song that I had sequenced a bit more painfully in December...

Thanks everybody!
