Solved: Changing the outline color of a singing tree
« on: May 01, 2017, 04:48:02 PM »
Hi all,

I'm having trouble changing the outline color of my singing trees.
They were imported from an .lms file I purchased from a vendor.
I've created a short video to show what I've tried.

Thanks!
Kevin

Here are a couple of screen captures that might help explain what I'm running into.

1) when I import the .lms file and play the sequence, the outline of the tree is white (see outline as imported.png).
2) if I click the effect next to the "outline" label and then click the checkbox next to the red in the color panel, the outline actually disappears. I've tried clicking the update buttons and have pressed the render button but still no outline.

I'm just trying to make my singing trees green and can't figure out what's up.
Maybe it has something to do with importing effects? I doubt it tho.

By the way, as a way to eliminate possible issues, I fired up my wife's Windows PC, installed xLights there and imported the .lms file there. Same behavior. I'm not able to change the color of the outline.

I must be changing the wrong setting.

You should go to the layout tab, click on the model, and look to see what type of lights the model is set up as. You would need them to be rgb lights in order to change the color.
