How to stop an effect from playing?
« on: October 26, 2014, 05:37:27 PM »
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I can't seem to find the answer.
Say I have a sequence using four models which lasts 4x 10 seconds. I want model 1 to play from 00:00 to 00:10, model 2 from 00:10 to 00:20 and so on. If I program this, model 1 continues to play after 00:10. Even when I add a new effect containing only "none". How do I stop the model?

I hope you get more experienced folks answering this....   I will take my stab at it.  I believe you will have to set a color wash black to "stop" the effect on the specific models.  I believe "none none" will just continue the current effect, but I am not 100% on that.

We enver created a "Blankout" effect.
None,None means nutcracker will not create anything

As stated , use a colorwash with 1 color of BLACK to truly blank out an effect

Until a built in effect of Off or Blankout is created, just create a Preset as OFF and use that.   That's what I do.

Thank you all, that did the trick. I was under the impression that selecting "none" would stop the animation. There seems to be some logic in that the lights need to be turned off (set to black).

Just one more question: When I have a sequence that lasts 40 seconds and I want one object to display the same effect for the whole sequence and others to display only during certain periods, the object that runs continuously seems to "skip" on period changes. Is there something that can be done to make it run more fluently?

This is exactly how I do it, create a colorwa with 1 color black and then I label it as off, then I can you use it where ever I want.

No. What happens is even though it will keep generating the same effect, each row causes it to restart the effect. This is a bug, it was not how it was envisioned. I don't know if I can fix it this season
