Creating models
« on: August 13, 2017, 05:49:40 PM »
Hello

I am just starting with creating models but I don't see any videos on step by step instructions.

When creating string models for examples, where do I indicate what controller it will be on.

Thanks advance for your help

What type of outputs are they as in pixels or AC strings?  E1.31 data or LOR USB outputs?

Typically we don't think in terms of what controller a model is assigned to.  For pixels you just create a bunch of E1.31 outputs so the easy way is just set the Start Channel field for the model to be the universe channel you want it to be.  Like #31:20 would indicate Universe 31 channel 20.  Then in the controller you would tell it to receive universe 31 and then configure the controller to output the proper channel out the desired output.

If you are wanting to push the controller configs from xLights then there is some notation you need to put in another model field but I'm not up on the syntax for that.

Here is an example

I am creating a model for a 12 (50 rgb nodes per strip, one strip per run) flat tree so using the F16V3 ,

Type: Flat
Rotation: do not understand
Spiral Wrap: No I will not be creating any spirals
Botton/Top ratio: do not understand
Perspective: do not understand
#of strings: 12
Nodes/String: 50
Strands/Spring: 1
Starting Location: Bottom Left
I clicked on calculate individual start chans and it created the pixel numbers per string.
Anything below this I do not understand.

Thanks for your help
