Bug or something I'm missing
« on: August 21, 2017, 01:35:19 PM »
Hey All....

I was thinking about changing my PMT to include more pixels.  I went and created a new folder and added the additional pixels.  It plays fine in the preview...in this case it was scrolling text on the PMT...perfect.

HOWEVER....when I convert it to an .hlsnc file and then drop it into HLS I get strange results.  I get 4 lines of text instead of 1....and every other string is skipped.

I also updated the HLS layout but testing shows that it works fine.  It's just when I convert from .fseq to .hlsnc and drop that into HLS that the problem occurs.

So....I went back to my old NC folder and created the same text sequence, converted it and dropped it into an HLS sequence and it worked perfectly.

Thinking I had made a mistake in setup of the new additional pixels I went back and created a folder that was an exact replica of my old working folder......with the old pixel numbers being the same....everything is exactly the same.  It works in NC preview but when I export it....the text is broken up as described above....

Can someone make sense of this?  Or is this some kind of bug that 'broke' the creation of new folders but yet allows the old folder to work as originally set up?  I'm soooooo confused.

Any help or thought is appreciated....

Best regards....SC

You probably need to delete your FSEQ files and then reopen xLights and re-render and save the files just to make sure you are really getting the added pixels in the FSEQ file.

Thanks Gil.....

Tried that....same results.  Even on a newly created sequence it does it....

I'm at a loss....

UPDATE:  I found it....or them in this case.  When I created a group of universes together for some reason 1 universe was doubled.....  Then over on the HLS side of things I selected the MT with a click and drag thinking all the channels were sequential....for some reason 10 pixels out of 5120 were absent....the little buggers were hiding when I selected the channels to drop the NC effect on to.....

Thanks for giving the feedback Gil....it got me to thinking....

The combination of the 2 issues was a nightmare to find......good thing I'm dumb enough to never give up~   :o

Ok except now you're making it sound like xLights duplicated a universe.  I'm pretty sure it just did whatever you told it to.  Also sounds like you were creating a "block" of universes.  I never use that method.  Just delete all outputs, hit Add E1.31, type in number of universes and size and BOOM....you're done.
