Pixel lag
« on: November 15, 2017, 12:54:15 PM »
I have a 800 pixel mega tree with 8 - 100 bulb strands.  It is controlled by a Sansdevice e682.   I am experimenting with xlights because it seems to have better effects and controls than the LOR software I am currently using.  However I am getting major delay in the effects.  For example the bar effect some strands the color moves down smoothly.  Other strands pause, then jump to catch up.  The tree effects work fine in LOR pixel editor.  Only get the delay in xlights when motion happens.  Static effects display correctly.

e682 is in unicast mode, LOR control panel was unloaded, controller hooked directly to computer, wifi disabled on the computer, mega tree is the only prop connected

Any ideas what would cause this lag?  I tried to search the forum and didn't find any answers.

How are you running the sequence/effects?  Are you dropping effects on the sequencer grid?  Are you rendering till complete and then hitting play in the sequencer?  Are you running the sequence from xSchedule?  Do you have any other unicast outputs defined?

Well, I had my issue a couple weeks ago.  I had to wait to get approved to post, then I got busy with other things and just got around to posting.  I hooked the computer up tonight to refresh my memory and get the answers to your questions.  It worked perfect tonight with no lag.  The only thing I did different that I know of was created a new sequence and saved it.

To answer your questions, I was dropping the effect onto the sequencer grid.  I wasn't doing anything with rendering or play.  When I dropped the effect it started playing.  I have not set anything up in xSchedule yet.  I also had no other unicast outputs.

Thanks for your quick response.  Hopefully it doesn't happen again!

Yep I usually hold off on helping users for a day because they tend to solve their own problems.
