Convert to LOR Problem
« on: November 07, 2014, 07:55:12 AM »
I created a short sequence in Nutcracker and converted it to an IMS file for LOR.  But when I try to open it in LOR I get the error message (Expected entity name for reference)

Could you please help.

Thanks

Do you have the ampersand "&" or any other non A-Z, 1-9 character in any of the model names or file names?

Some routines don't like that.

Did you export using Lms or Clip board? and what version of xlights are you using?

I export using Lms and just updated to the newest version 3.6.1 and still does not work.  Not sure about the clipboard....just learning.

I believe this is an LOR error because of the space in your file name or the space or non A-Z, 1-9 naming of one of your models.

Please read this thread as it appears to be the same issue you are having.

Opened a new LOR sequence and converted it - added some effects for the 16 ccp tree - then converted it back to an lms file and was able to open....but way too big to play. Also was going to copy and paste to my actual sequence for the mega tree but not sure how to because it is totally different.

Not sure what was wrong with my other file!  Now a new problem as using ccp strings - 2 50 pixel strings per controller - 8 controllers - or a 16 string tree.  When I opened the file I converted back to lms from the nutcracker it was huge and it had all the channels not the r g b so could not or did not know how to copy and paste it to my actual sequence I am working on.

Thanks
Gary

Most folks using LOR seem to end up doing all the non RGb stuff in LOR and then importing to xlights/nutcracker and doing all the RGB stuff.  Then staying with XL/NC.  I no longer use LOR although I still have a license, just commenting on all the threads I have read where the happiest LOR users seem to do as I stated above.

Thanks....think I will stick with LOR this year as may run out of time otherwise.  Too much to learn and I have about 8 to 10 songs to program.....and with dancing farm animals - way too much.

Thanks for all your help.
