first items to get started

I am ready to take my first steps with purchasing a few items. I am looking at the following:

I am confident in #1 and 3. I am pretty confident in @2 (lights). AM  I good to go?

good choices. #2 burn in the LED's when you get them, to check for failures. Amazon has a great return system.
