Xlights has stopped working
« on: November 04, 2014, 03:56:57 PM »
While I was modifying the Pixel Star model, I set the star size to 21 inch.  Clicked OK, and xLights stopped working.

It would not restart or open again, and keep getting message Xlights has stopped working, Check online for a solution or close the program.
I uninstalled Xlights, and reinstalled it, latest version.  It would not open or run.
I uninstalled and deleted any files I could find on Xlights that I could find in the software registry.
I reinstalled it again. It still would not run.
Rebooted computer a couple of times.  Shut down windows firewall and internet security before downloading new version. It won't open anymore.
This is what I copied from the details.

send the sequence xml, the xlights_rgbeffects.xml and the name of the model you were working on to sean@meighan.net. I will take a look.

Remember, never send a XSEQ file only xml files.
thanks

I had to rename the show directory in C:\vixen before Xlights would run.
Then I had to make a new one.  I guess I will have to start over and make new nutcracker effects.

Sean, did you figure out why xLights stop working for me?

I got it going by changing the name of the show directory, starting over and making new sequences.

Even if you started from start, uninstall xlights and reinstall, you dont need to recreate your sequences. Just get the xml files and the sound files into a new directory and use the 3rd file open with the xml checkbox set.

OK,  but I don't follow what you mean here in red.

File open in the NUTCRACKERS tab has four option; 1) open an existing Xseq, 2) open a lor lms file, 3) create a new sequence from a sound file, 4) create a new sequence with no audio

In 3) , there are three check boxes,
A) none
B) audacity file
C) xml file

Check (c). Picke the right sound file and click ok. You will next be prompted for a xml file
