video card?
« on: July 05, 2018, 07:11:50 AM »
Hey everyone,
I need some advice I am adding  a third monitor to my pc. and I am not sure if i need a new video card to do this. how do i check if this will even work im running windows 10 64bit with 8gig of ram. I know i could use to update my ram but what do i need to hookup 3 monitors, looking on the back my 2 monitors are hooked up to 2 seperate cards now one is hdmi and the other is dvi. so can i get a new card for all 3 or do i need to get another one just for the 3 monitor, what are my options.

Thanks
Merry Christmas,

Even a mediocre video card should be able to run 3 monitors.
If you already have 2 video cards you should have another place to plug in another monitor.

HI,
thanks for responding. I now have the 3 monitors up and working, one of monitors I had to get a convertor for to make it a vga to usb but it all works but now the problem is anytime i add something to a sequence like any kind of a new effect the model preview and house preview pause's and after a 4 or 5 second spand then plays. would this be a video card problem. I don't remember it taking so long with only one monitor connected but now its really apparent and a nuisance. any ideas?

I use one of these for my third monitors. plugs into a USB port works just fine.
