Sequence Copy/Paste bug?
« on: July 31, 2018, 11:38:01 AM »
(noob alert using v.23)

Working with the Logan's star wars funk sequence - trying to copy one of the windows (Study Window for example).

It is based off of the lightsaber timings. I cant seem to highlight the entire row - the timing track only goes thru the first part of the track.

If I select the beat track or another track - I cut / paste and the effects are "offset" from the original lightsaber timing marks.

Is this a case of me doing it wrong? Is there a better approach (yes I know I can map the entire sequence).

Daryl.

There are many ways to copy/paste.  I'd right-click the row heading and look at the copy/paste options.  For selecting effects its easier to uncheck the timing tracks and drag the yellow dashed box to create a selection.  If you are pasting and can't get the alignment right then create a dummy effect on the top row of the selection area and drag it to time 0.  Then when you paste grab everything you pasted and move it over till that effect its the wall.  Then delete the dummy effect.

Right click on "Study Window" ->Row ->Copy Effects ??
That wont paste (for me) into the other Xlights program where "my" sequence is. Should it?

Digesting your comment about the dummy effect :-)

Okay got it with your tips..

esp. the uncheck the timing marks and use the yellow selection box. Pasting into the destination with the lightsaber timings turned on make it dead simple.
