Controller and Power Distribution Worksheet v2.0
« on: August 19, 2018, 02:58:05 PM »
I've made massive changes to my previously shared Controller and Power Distribution Worksheet which a lot of you have seen and/or used.  It is now much more flexible, automated, simplified and can handle things like virtual strings and pretty much any layout you can throw at it.  This worksheet will help you keep track of your setup, channels, controller and power distribution and usage.  It is very helpful for setup in xLights and the Falcon Player.
You can find the new version template to copy here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jHl0VnaNFp6admPuqhn6GlPMC9PU4Lh3ov3H4ToI5Ns/edit?usp=sharing

Please give it a look, test it out, and provide any feedback you'd like regarding functionality, improvements or general criticisms...I'm always looking to improve upon it.  You can reach me here or through our website linked below.  You can also view our live worksheet here to use as an example:

Enjoy!  Please check out our "How Do We Do It" section of our website for other tips and details around our show!

While going thru the speadsheet for me .. the F16v3, does it have 3 DMX or 4? I don't use them but I see on the spreadsheet you noted that it was 4. Not a big deal either way and the docs seem a bit confusing as to which it is.

But since you asked I guess I can look it up on pixelcontroller.com for you:

DMX/Renard/Pixelnet Outputs
 4 - Dedicated RS-485 outputs. 3 RJ-45 connectors and 1 3-pin connector (Not shown on image).

I see Gil answered your question, thanks Gil!  As for the document, keep in mind that you can setup the port configuration any way you like in the Data Tab feeding the sheet.  I have the data in there setup to meet my needs but you can use it whatever way you like for whatever controller or configuration you like.  It's entirely up to you..enjoy!

Yep thanks guys .. I put it to 3 just 'cuz I saw 3 connectors and couldn't see how you could have 4 dmx but like I said, I don't use them anyways so it didn't really matter to me.  I did look at the docs .. it shows as you noted a pic with just 1-2 and 3 labelled.

Anyways, this will come in real handy as I try and figure all this stuff out in a relatively short amount of time :-)
