No Output From Setup
« on: November 22, 2014, 10:33:54 AM »
After a major crash with Vixen 3 right before my show and the program will not even open for me even after a reinstall I did a search and found XLights with the auto sequencer to try and save my show this year.  My set up consist of 3 universes coming from the DIYLED Express Bridge, 128 channels for my Renard Controllers, 2 and 3 set up for 75 pixels each coming from a pixel extender.  The Bridge is set up as a E1.31 devise running multicast from a second NIC card from my computer.  After getting a couple of sequences done and testing them in the preview I hooked my Renard 64XC to the bridge and went to my Preview Screen in XLights loaded a sequence, had output to lights box checked and nothing appears on my Renard controller.  I expected to see the channel LED's dancing but nothing, am I missing something? I know its late but in advance I would to thank you for any advise.

Once your Nutcracker setup page matches the hardware config, it will work!

post your SETUP page from xlights. Also post your xlights_rgbeffects.xml
as stated above, many people have used different hardware. The secret is getting the SETUP tab correct. To test the Tab go to TEST , click output to lights and try turning on one channel for the beginning of each model.

Hello one and all
Made a little bit progress today by hooking up my Renard64XC to my computer with a usb to serial port and changed some of my set up to match that controller and got some blinky lights today.  Before my crash with Vixen3 when I set up my Bridge I specified with NIC port to use, "Multicast Ethernet 2", by the way my second NIC adapter is USB to Ethernet if that makes a difference.   I used the OBTAIN INTERNET ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY box and it talked to the bridge.  In XLights do we have that option. I could not find it anywhere.  Being very new to this program I may have overlooked something.

Thank you
