Delay Effect/Channel by 1 second
« on: December 18, 2018, 12:38:41 PM »
I have a sequence finished and looking perfect in my preview.  However I have a couple of LED elements that have a 1 second delay when they turn on.  So now I need to modify the model's effects and back them up one second.  Is there an easy way to do it other than cutting and pasting the entire line?

On a side note, is there a way to a better grid or a way to show the exact time of where I click?  Vixen was great with this, but, unless I'm missing something, when I click a spot on the grid, I don't know what the timing is, I can only estimate it.  Which makes cutting and pasting the effects back exactly 1 second a bit more difficult.

Thanks.

Jason

In Xlights you can go to edit and then down to the bottom selection which is "shift selected effects" then you can enter any value you want.

When you put your cursor on an effect the stats for that effect will show in the lower right bar on Xlights.

I found the shift.  Thank you so much.  That just made my life so much easier.

If you zoom in you can see the exact time you are clicking on.  Why don't you just stay with Vixen since it did everything you needed?

I need to move away from Vixen for a couple of reasons.  First I have a Mac as my personal computer.  Although my show runs on an old Windows laptop.  Vixen won't run on my Mac.  It did last year with a Wine, but something changed between then and now where it's not working anymore making programming a pain.  Plus I'm looking to add some RGBs in next year, which really makes Vixen obsolete.

I'm starting to get the hang of xLights.  I found the grid thing.  I had to add timing marks.
