Let it go
« on: November 15, 2014, 07:57:12 PM »
This post will be my work in progress for "Let it go". I've started working on my singing holiday coro (knock off) tree and this will be my first at attempt at doing anything with Papagayo in xlights. Once I get a xml file I'll share it up too. If anyone else has done anything with "Let it go", please feel free to share. I'm using the 2.0b1 of papagayo to create the file, so hopefully that works fine with nutcracker.

OK...so I did the math....336/24 =14 and 336/20 = 16 and change and that's where the file is starting at! So, it doesn't look like when it does the conversion it reads in the value of frames per second. Not sure how to resolve..but that looks like what is happening right now.

Your pgo has not been changed to 20 fps.

We used to say that you need to edit the pgo file, before you layout the phrases.
so
1) Create a new pgo fiel from wav file
2) Paste in lyrics and do initial layout.
3) Exit and edit the pgo file from 24 to 20 <======= important step. Do this before dragging everything around.
4) Go back into papagayo and do the real layout, save
5) Go to xlights, use pgo file in papagayo tab

here are first few lines of your file.

lipsync version 1
Let It Go.wav
24   <== this is supposed to be 20
5393
1
   Voice 1

I thought frankr was making a utility to change the pgo file to do convert fps automatically.
i will ping him

Yeah....step 3 is important before you get to step 4... now that I'm an expert at dragging files around in papagayo, it might only take me 30 or so minutes to get through the song again.

I just read the TabPapagayo.cpp file and if only it had 0.042 instead of 0.05 in the two lines it would be AWESOME!!!

 seconds = (double) start_frame * 0.050;  // assume 20fps fpr the papagayo file. not a good assumption

OK... I have modified my first post with the updated pgo file and xml file that has the coro faces. My next edit *should* include my XLtap incorporated timing marks. Can't wait to take this for a test run tonight.

I made you a one off file with 42ms in papagayo tab instead of 50ms.
This is an unsupported version, hope it helps. Any person who has 20fps in their pgo files should NOT use this one off code.

I've been painfully working away at an updated sequence by adding some text to my 90x32 flex strip matrix. I'm at 100 of 200 seconds so hopefully by end of week I'll have the rest of the words added. I'm using the cues from the coro face to map the words onto the matrix and adding some simple animation where required in the song. Like the chorus. Will post updated xml later on - but as it stands now that file is just over a MB in size because I also added a whole house model.

Saving 800 lines of sequence takes just over 300 seconds! Fortunately it's easy enough to switch models.

So... how the heck did you guys ever sequence individual channels in the past is beyond me - so grateful for nutcracker!!!

http://blogs.psychcentral.com/couples/files/2014/07/tumblr_n1zi5rWB2V1r7b6cio1_500.gif  <-- the image I use during the chorus. I renamed it as letitgo-anmiated.gif when I used it.

Updated the xml - noticed a couple of typos, and some red instead of blue text....should be better...not 100%, but all the words are here now.
