You can see in another thread here I had a problem with my Renard controller. When I pulled it out of storage 2 of the Triacs had apparently died. Xlights to the rescue. My Renard ss24 was only using the first 15 connections and connections 1&2 died, so my solution was going to be to switch those 2 lights to post 16&17 on the Renard and then use Xlight's output processing feature in the Scheduler to reroute the calls to ports 1&2 to 16&17. Seemed good to me. But this feature does not seem to be working. At least half of my songs have those 2 lights, now connected to Renard ports 16&17 Off the whole song. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and not sure why some songs work while others do not. I've altered my layout so that those lights are now mapped to 16&17...and re-saved the sequences. I assumed this would permanently fix the sequence, but for some reason I cannot get some of my sequences to "remap" to those new ports (16&17) even though they show correctly in my layout.
Question #1: Is there something I'm missing?
Also, I got home from a work trip tonight and saw that many of my songs had those 2 lights off. My schedule was already running, but I logged into my Xmas controller computer and pulled up XSchedule, and pulled up the Output Processing windows. In all my troubleshooting trying to get these damned lights remapped I had disabled those remaps...so I went in there and enabled them and closed the window. Nothing happened. I expect this would immediately start working, but...
Question #2: Is there a point in the schedule start up that the output processing gets enabled/checked? Should those lights get remapped if those settings are changed while the schedule is running?
Question #3: If a sequence is already sending effects to port #16 on my Renard and I remap port #1 to #16 using the output processing feature, would that somehow cancel out all other effects sent to #16 and make the light ONLY respond to effects sent to #1? Or is it additive to #16? I would expect it to be additive meaning the light would respond to commands sent to both port #1 and #16...but that doesn't seem to be the case.
At this point I don't really trust the output processing feature to work, I've messed with this for the last 2 nights trying to fix this seemingly easy problem...so I want to go to the next step and just fix all my sequences so those effects are on port #16 instead of port #1 so...
Question #4: Am I correct in assuming that if I have a sequence that was previously sending effects to my Renard port #1, which XLights called output #27541...and I altered my layout so that that item (the star on my xmas tree) is now instead mapped to output #27556, and then I save the sequence, shouldn't that fix my problem? Shouldn't the saved fseq file to sending the effects to output #27556 now?
Question #5: Is there another way to remap/fix my sequences and move remap or transfer my effects from item to another in my layout? I thought that was the whole point of the layout tab. I'm hoping I don't need to actually cut and paste effects from one item to the other, but if I do, is there any easiest way to do that?
Finally, I believe I found a bug in your output processing window. I was originally naming my output using the UNI:CHANNEL layout, such as 53:13...which works in some areas. I noticed that in the output processing window "To channel" edit box would NOT accept that type of light designation. It would save 53:13 as "53"...and would make the remap not work. The From Channel seemed to work correctly. Anyway I found that it WOULD accept the long form version instead...like 27556.
