P10 Matrix has 2 different outputs???? SOLVED
« on: November 13, 2019, 06:53:51 AM »
This is my first P10 to build it is a 5x5.  Running FPP on BBB. I have 2 panels that are different than the rest.  I think I have everything set up right.  All arrows are pointing up.  The two panels are number O3P4 and O3P5.  Looking from the front O1P1 is upper right.  I am including screen shots of everything I think will be important to help figure out, screen shot of matrix is from FPP test mode.  I have also swapped out the cables from panel 13 to 14 an 14 to 15.  The 14 and 15 panels are not on the same 2 wire power.  They do go to the same power source.  When running sequence in XLights the matrix works and these two panels act up.  Any help please....

Are those two panels EXACTLY the same as the others?   Check the back for any markings.    That pattern in test mode is almost always due to them being outdoor 1/4 scan panels and not 1/8 scan.

Took lunch at home.  Decided to apply same logic used to debug nodes on a string.  Data flows.  So when the node stops working it might be the data not coming from the node before.  Replaced O3P3 with a new panel and it works.  I guess the output from O3P3 was not working properly and therefor 4 and 5 did not work.  Will take the current O3P3 and move to O3P5 which is the end and that should not be a problem anymore.  This makes 4 out of the 30 panels with problems I bought from DIYLEDExpress.  Had one go black and two others have a bad red pixel in them.  I was building a 5x6 and changed to a 5x5 so fortunately I have plenty of panels to work with.  When get time will work with the bad panels and see what I can do to get them to work.  Hopefully it will be something simple.  Got them at a good price so having a few problem will only help me to learn more.  Over the years I have learned more from solving problems than I would ever have learned if everything worked right the first time.
