Please help! Projector Control (simple on off) in Pi
« on: October 23, 2020, 11:39:29 AM »
Hello All!  I have been using xlights for about 5 years and last year I added a projector to my display.  Everything works well except for having to manually turn on the projector every night for 30 nights.  I have the projector in a VERY secure box with security screws and the box is secured to the ground.

I just added the plugin PROJECTOR CONTROL to one of my Pi Players and filled in the specs (Baud rate stop bit, etc)  BTW, my projector was listed in the projector list, so I was very excited about this!!  But now, I can't figure out how to "activate" the control.  Does it turn on automatically when I start the sequence or do I add something to the schedule, or???

Thanks in advance and I look forward to winning yard of the month in my neighborhood again in 2020  :-D

It currently will create two scripts in the script directory, one for on, one for off.   Thus, in your "Lead In" section, you would add a "Run Script" command and select the On script.  Likewise and Off in your lead out.

Hello DKulp!  I didn't expect an answer from you!  AND so soon. I see your name ALL OVER the place.  You're a BUSY person.

Anyway, I will try your tip this weekend and post the results!  Have a good weekend.

I'm back and I am a step closer to projector control.....

I added the scripts to the Lead-in and lead out, I ordered and received a TTL to USB, because that is what Dell said that I need for my 2300 projecter.

I started the sequence, but no luck...

I have attached a picture of my Status/Control Page.  Any ideas?  I feel like I'm missing something..
