Singing Christmas Tree Mapping

So this is my first foray into the music-synced Christmas decorations game, I've wanted to do these for several years now.  I have the Christmas Tree Faces all set up and have been trying to get things set up correctly with the xLights.  I have a HinksPix Pro controller that I will eventually use to run the show, but will probably do a computer this year to start off, and a AlphaPix controller.   

I think I have it mostly set up and connected right, because my computer communicates to the controllers and I can run the tests and watch the lights light up on the controllers, but I have a wrong setting somewhere in mapping the nodes from xLights correctly to the controller for when I run a sequence. The tests run fine from both the xLights and xSchedule, but I must have delineated them wrong somewhere. The preview runs perfectly in the Sequence tab when testing the sequence, but when I run the show, the whole bank of 1-8 on both controllers light up, and the 9-16 seem to mirror each other. Is there a guide somewhere to check my settings on that? Or someone who can help me?   I can usually bull my way through these things but this one has me super frustrated.  Thanks!
