Mega Tree Pole Setup
« on: November 05, 2021, 11:37:36 AM »
Hi there,

Newbie, first time in this universe. I am trying to install a Mega Tree, I would like to use a 20' 11 gauge telescopic flag pole. Is this hardware strong enough to hold 32 100ct bullet pixel nodes and topper?

Thanks in advance

Ernie

Telescopic flagpole did not work for me as it kept sliding down.  I finally put a rubber strip and a hose clamp at each joint to stop the sliding, but the weight was still way to heavy for me to push up the pole to the top and hold in place til I could put the hose clamp on.  Finally cut my string count in half and moved to a better pole for the following year.

In general flagpoles are designed for the weight of a flag and will not work well as a meg pole.  Even a one piece pole is not recommended by most lighters although there are a few who have made it work.

I used a flag pole setup for years.  I had 12 ribbon strips with 50 pixels each.  I had to drill holes and insert nails to keep each section from sliding back down.  I think 32x100 would be way too heavy for those type of poles.
