Xlights and virtual box
« on: January 08, 2021, 01:46:48 AM »
Hello Everyone! New guy here, and of course just want to see if I could get some direction on a problem or see if someone has a setup similar to mine.  I have a pc that I am running xlights on as well as virtualbox installation of home assistant. I have a very basic xlight instance that runs all of my rgb landscape lighting. Xlights on two other pcs works great. The machine that has a virtual machine installed does not. I can ping the controller but it seems there is something going on with multicast? The multicast route is listed in windows but for some reason the controller isnt getting data. I am using one of the basic ebay dmx controls hooked up to a LOR rgb control. Like I said thou that isnt the issue as it works from two other machines. Thanks for any suggestions! 8)

I can't really follow your setup.  Why is multicast a requirement and why do you need 3 machines running xLights in multicast?

If you have multiple adapters and are using multicast you may need to set a forced IP address to control which adapter gets the multicast traffic.
