FIXED Half the lights work, Half of them dont
« on: May 31, 2021, 01:38:06 PM »
Running into an issue I cant figure out.
I started my LED journey last year and I'm adding 2 new props this year.

I've gone into the controller setup of xlights and added both ESPixelStick controllers. Both of them say "online" and I can click the "open" button to get to WLED and the light respond as expected.

In the layout tab, I've set them up as I did the previous 2 (roof and windows). Specifically, start channel is the controller I added. In this case its the arch controller.

I create a new animation to test everything. Click output the lights, the LEDs go dark, click play animation and only the roof and windows (the two I made last year) light up with the animation.

I cant for the life of me figure out what the problem is. I thought it might be a universe issue but even after changing the setups they still wont light up.

Appreciate the help, hopefully the attachments are helpful.

Cannot answer your question, but you do have absolute channel number overlap and you will probably find that making 7 individual arches and grouping them will work better for your sequences.  At least if did for me and what I recall is that is has to do with how they are rendered.  I switched all of my arches to individual and things work a lot better - I buy or use shared sequences since I have no sequencing skills. (And I have tried, sigh)

Individual arches are a good idea and I will try that.

What exactly do you mean by "absolute channel number overlap"?

I was looking at the numbers in parens and I thought they were overlapping.  I don't see it now but your numbers do not match when looking at roof end channel.

Well, still no luck.
Ive tried the single arch, deleted and re-added the controllers, re-flashed the controllers....nothing
Still the same, click output to lights....they all go off like normal, but only half light up per the sequence but all work in WLED.

Even ran the xLights "check sequence" toll and received no errors

Well for anyone having this same issue I found a work around.
Out of sheer frustration I just left the universe count for the new controller as 1, even though I already have a universe 1 on my roof controller.

Solved all my problems, I dont understand it but at least it works
