RDS Question for EDM-TX-RDS FM Transmitter
« on: December 18, 2023, 05:04:32 PM »
I have my show up and running smoothly in my new house. Now I would like to add RDS capability to my show. I have an EDM-TX-LCD with RDS FM transmitter but have not been able to find any recent information about how to get RDS up and running. I currently use the scheduler in FPP for my shows. Based on research so far it appears like xSchedule supported it at one time but the support was discontinued in 2020 for mac computers.
Is there a current methodology that is available/recommended to add RDS capability using a Mac computer or do I need to use the 2020 xSchedule version and abandon the FPP scheduler?

I created some directions awhile back on how to setup the EDM with FPP.

You can use the FPP EDM Audio plugin provided you are not also using Remote Falcon or interrupting the normal playlist.  If the normal playlist is interrupted, the sequences will start with no sound for 1-3 seconds, and then start over again with sound.  (I guess it will work if you do not mind the glitch)  The plugin is no longer supported, but does still work.

I don't use the plug-in any more, and last time was last year with FPP version 6.x.  I just have RDS programmed to display the the website url for the show, and do not play any song information.
