Ray can do custom spacing?

I thought Ray could do custom spacing (or even custom pieces).  On my 5th order with Ray I thought I would try it out and it has been a disaster.  I requested the ProForma on 18 Feb and the strings I got this weekend are still wrong.  I sent clearly labeled pictures of what spacing I wanted in certain spots and then the rest of the string was supposed to be the standard 100mm spacing (white bullet type).  He got the certain spots close enough but the standard spacing part he did at 80mm (majority of the string) - they're useless.  Anybody else having trouble with Ray lately?

I always thought custom spacing meant one whole string at a custom spacing.  Sounds like you tried to do two different spacings on the same string.  If I needed that I would just have ordered two strings or sets of strings with different custom spacing and then joined the two.  Maybe I'm interpreting your words wrong.  I have ordered at least twice a year from Ray for several years and not had any problems, but I have never ordered any custom spacing.  Good luck in resolving your issues.  Ray is pretty good to work with, but can be hard to get a hold of.  I use mostly email, but I have used chat.  For me in the Eastern time zone Ray is exactly 12 hours off.  So 9pm my time is 9am his time, I used that knowledge when I tried to use the chat function so I knew when he most likely was in the office, but even then he may not be at his desk.

ray does custom spacing -- but uniform spacing. 

doing something outside of that is inviting trouble.

I ordered custom lengths of 85 pixel strings my last order and they turned out ok.  I had 4 not working and he sent replacements for free.

I'm with the others.  Every one of the probably 400 strings I have purchased over the last three years has been custom, with connectors attached because I hate soldering.... but always a constant custom spacing.

Were these bullet or flat square style?  The one problem I had with Ray at one point in regards to inaccurate pixel spacing was with the square flat pixels as I didn't draw the "node center to node center distance"... he did the pixel spacing as the wire length and I wound up with higher pixel spacing than I wanted, which I was able to work with luckily.
