Random effects
« on: February 18, 2014, 09:24:34 PM »
Hi all...

I've been experimenting with random effects on a megatree....  I am exporting the model to HLS and have exported successfully in the past using Audacity and marking up phrases in songs.... This time I just took the "Note Onset" approach and ended up importing several hundred timing marks into NC.  When I apply my model and assign random effects and export I get a megatree that just has lots of random twinkling lights and the effects from NC are barely discernible....mostly it's just twinkling lights......

If I use the same Audacity timing mark file and just assign a single effect to the model in the first timing block it exports fine.....

In the past using music phrases (20 or so) there were no export problems and everything worked fine when I exported.  Is there a limit to how many effects can be exported?

Mega tree has 64 strings of 60 pixels each.....270 degree.

UPDATED...  It seems that length of the song makes a difference (maybe a combo of length and scads of labels)....  I went back and split the song into 2 separate MP3's and exported the models for those 2..... I also broke up the labels and renumber the timing.....Both work perfectly but the single large sequence is still inoperative.....

I didn't want all those labels I generated but was doing it as a test to learn.....I ended up using about 10% if the labels from the original......

SantaCarl--I am an HLS newbie just starting out in his quest to learn HLS.  I, too, plan to export NC effects into HLS probably as my "norm"..  Will be interesting to see what inputs you receive here!
