Mega tree test using NC and E682
« on: June 02, 2014, 09:34:03 AM »
Well I ran my first partial test of NC with my Mega tree using E682 board. No issues getting it configured and all lights are working. However, I noticed that some NC effects are not showing up correctly - almost as if one leg of tree is out of sequence to the effect. Example - tested the Spirograph; had lights showing but they were not together to form the shape correctly. For the Twinkle effect, first light lower left leg (fine), but the next light was on my fifth leg, then next light was on my second leg.
From a configuration standpoint, I have a 16 strand 50pixel 180 tree, starting at lower left.  Each strand plugs into the E682 on each of the 16 'ports', starting with 1-1,1-2, etc.  Any suggestions on what could be causing this.

I'm doing the same testing. Make sure that on the E682 configuration page you have the last channel set properly for each port group.

I tried to keep it simple and let the configuration table define the start end address based on the 50pixel string.  This is what I have setup so far. How does that compare to what you are doing?

That looks good.  Does your xLights configuration match with Universe 5 last channel set to 360?

I set up with the default 510 per universe so it ends with 2550.  Should I change that to the actual end channel?  If so, why would that matter given it is at the end?

Does anyone know the answer to my question?  Do I set up NC's last universe to end at the same channel as what I configured the E682?

Everything should match.

Last channel in XL, Last channel in E682 setup and the last channel configured on your model should all match.

Bottom line is the E682 will only light up to the last channel configured.

I plugged in two more strings, added them to my xlights configuration, created a model and they didn't work.  I had to go back to the E682 and let it know I had more lights.
