Crashes during editing 4.1.3
« on: June 06, 2015, 10:05:24 PM »
Attached are a few debug reports (Windows)
In all cases I was editing the same timeline of one sequence (Spinner - custom model) (see attached word document). In all cases had toggled the nodes and was working on individual nodes/cells. Was either copying and pasting , using the 'O' key to put a single colour on , or dragging the On icon to that spot.

I think definitely , that if you highlight a few cells and then press 'O' (on ) it crashes - see the 3rd screen print where you can see the 5 highlighted cells.

I also noticed that in a number of cells , pressing 'O' did nothing ie the cell was not filled with a colour , so I had to drag the ON icon to that cell. But it would work fine in the very next cell. So I filled all the cells where 'O' would work , then dragged the On icon to the cells where it would not work.

(In all cases as per the screen print , I am doing one cell at time) as I wish to have a block of vertical cells have the same colour and am not sure how to do that.

I also noticed , that if u press O or drag the ON icon , it often does not fill the area between two timing marks
(see expanded view on page 2) , so if u then copy and paste , it gets skewed.

using Windows:
Not really whilst editing - but sequencing:

I added a number of channels to the setup (for a P10 matrix ) , thought I had saved them all , but maybe I did not.
Anyway after defining a model and group (P10 matrix) and adding a few effects , I went to the layout screen and clicked play (I think sorry)  and received the first message in the attached screen print.

clicked No and then pressed Save (as the message suggested), when  xlights stopped working (screen print 2)
[ *** ]
After restarting xlights , which required a PC reboot , I saw that the setup had not been completely updated ie only 3 universes had been added, added the remaining universes again, saved the setup, then continued as per normal and all is good.

So essentially , attempting to save at point '***' without the correct number of channels defined in setup causes a crash.

Perhaps , if possible , a warning message if the setup config has been changed and the user exits without saving ? (nothing to do with the crash , but it took me a while to do the setup and I really thought I had saved , but guess not).

Also , noticed that if the model window is open and you close xlights , that the model window often does not close - see screen print 3 (the model window had been moved to the centre of the sequencer screen)

BTW - should I also open an issue in github - or post here or both (and cross ref) ?
