Papagayo into xlights

Then Downloaded the 1.3.5,2 pg software

Just wanted to check that the process to create a singing face in papagayo and import into xlights now , is mostly the same as described , eg use that software at 20 fps , create a pgo file and then use the papagayo tab in xlights to import the pgo file and map as presets to my existing singing face custom model channels using the presets?

If yes , do I specify the output type as auto faces or coro faces ?

When done ,
After render all , saving etc 
If I toggle nodes I should see an on effect against each node (ie top lip o-mouth) as appropriate , correct ?

Hi Gerry, I'm with you on Papagayo as I still struggle to get a sequence that works. I can not see where I am going wrong. Mine just does not do what I see on Sean's video. I think it is in the correct syntax of the CMD but not sure.
Could be it needs or doesn't need a space here or there.
I have spent fruitless days on this.

If someone could kindly type out the CMD lines that match Sean's tutroial so I could copy and paste that may be helpful.

Hi Dennis,
Are you referring to merging of files manually as I don't think that is required any longer.
I took a song , split it into two segments and did the first segment in Papagayo .
Was able to import it into xl and get it to play with each channel showing after posting the above.
I think that the first option creates an xml, that you then have to reopen in a seq .

Can't say I liked the results  , but may take a simpler song today ie more spaced out words and less words and see what that looks like.

Yes .

The Papagayo version used was the 1.3.x not the lasts on the website. and I used the latest drop of xl.
Create new seq .....then
Click on the papagayo tab and the import actually appears to do a convert into an xml seq.
Then after that is done , exit xl and open again the created one (it will say it is converting bfrom 3.x to 4 and ask for media again), render , save etc and it is there.

As I said I had no time to verify the alignment to the music - it looked in the right place in the seq, but I just aligned the words roughly in pgo , as it is the first time I have used pg.

I am out the whole day today , but tom will spend more time on this, including merging two pgo files (as the videos said break into 1 1/2 mins ). I saw a '+' sign on the xl pgo whilst adding.

Old age. It was actually trying to get a video sequenced that I have spent ages on and got no where, but also with Pgo.

I think, though, that you don't have to break it down into 90 seconds like you used to.
Did you use the Pgo from the releases page? http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/ I will tru again later with a fresh Pgo and follow Sean's links.

No I got the software ie the same version from some place on the LOR forum , as I was reading through various posts.
This is after I tried the latest 2.n Papagayo software , then read further posts about it.

Only saw the link when I came to the Papagayo tab on xl.
Also see two other utilities there that was mentioned.

I think that thenpapagayo tab actually does a convert , ie does not bring it into the seq unlike the import, but it does work.

After the papagayo import is done (via the papagayo tab) and  a seq created , when you then open that seq, are those effects editable now in any way or is it brought in similar to the data layer where you can play but not edit (aka fine tune) in xl ?
For example , could I go to one of the nodes and delete what is in one cell or move the effect from one cell a bit to the left or right etc ?

Thank you for that . I saw it quite late , after I had done a fair bit by trial and error, but it is an extremely useful and comprehensive document especially as I try to do multiple voices

I also watched all the videos that Sean created but there appears to be one more (that you may have ?) , when the last enhancements ie to stich two files (and use the fade effects etc) were done.

Also , as far as I could see the effects are not editable in the grid once you re-open the xml file in 4.1.x - just wanted to be sure that that is the case, cause when I tried to edit it (toggle nodes) it crashed , though it imported and played very well.
 
I did not use the papaassist program but aligned the phrases within papagayo itself.

I created the faces in Papagayo and Nutcracker then exported the effects to LSP. I then edited the voices because the fade in and fade out didn't work all that well for me. I also tweaked the voice effects in some places to better fit the words.

I have not tried working with PG and NC 4.x because I don't think the PG code has been upgraded yet.

The Papa Assist program was crated to make aligning the voices easier and faster.

Am happy to send you the results of what I have done so far if you wish.

I was able to stitch two PGO files , assign to a Coro face with presets with  one voice and see it on the preview and it finally looked reasonably okay for a first attempt.

Of course I spent ages trying to work out which channels to assign to the presets to match my custom model (watching the videos again and again) --- and then after all that saw your document !!

Prior to that I bought a LOR singing face (LMS file) and imported that .

Now to wait for Ray to send me the neon flex yet again as he sent the wrong one last time....

Am now carefully reading the document referred to above and will try out the papaassist as aligning the phrases in papagayo was a bit of a pain , but not too bad all things considered (LSP macros taught me to have lots of patience last year
