Removal of underlying imported data
« on: June 20, 2015, 09:38:22 AM »
This is probably a Gli question but here goes.

I have a sequence that is a combination of effects built in Nutcracker and imported data layer from LSP via Light Elf.

I can see the imported LSP data layer information at the models strand level in the grid. However if I add Nutcracker effects to that same model the Nutcracker effects will over ride the underlying imported data but does not seem to replace it when the sequence is saved/rendered.

Is there anyway to remove that data for a specific model without recreating and importing a new data layer from LSP?

We don't have a way to edit the data layer data.  The whole purpose of data layers was so that the Nutcracker effects would not destroy the underlying data so that if you later remove those Nutcracker effects you still have the data underneath that used to be hidden.

I thought that is the case.

So if I replace some of the effects that now exist in that imported data layer the only way to eliminate them is to recreate that data layer without the replaced effects and re merge it into the Nutcracker sequence.

Thanks for the quick response.
