Absolute Channel Counts
« on: June 23, 2015, 09:34:26 AM »
I watched Sean's video on How To Setup Your Show.  https://vimeo.com/130035888  I loved the spreadsheet and the idea of an absolute count.  My question is when you are finally picking specific controllers.  I know I will need to change the Universe (say for example to 4) but do I have to renumber the channel count starting from 1, or can I just leave the original number (say 3000 to 3510)?

I would think you could leave it.  The controller should not care unless you go over 512 channels ... right???

Thanks, I read it.  I don't think it answered my question directly, but if I understand the conversation correctly, if I set the controller start channel at the appropriate absolute channel number, it should work.

We always start at 1. If your first real channel is 3000 just make some dummy entries of ,say e1.31 controllers to fill up the first 2999 channels. Your first model starts at 3000, everything will work correctly
