Ramps and Odd Colors
« on: July 04, 2015, 05:32:45 PM »
Hey.  I am working on migrating from LOR to xLights.  I am trying to relearn how to do things I could automatically do in S3.  Two things I have not figured out how to do in xLights.

1-  I would like to ramp up from say 25% to 75%.

2- Sometimes I try to get a specific color to emulate incandescent lights.  For example white.  While I don't have the exact numbers in front of me, in LOR I can set each RGB channel to a specific percentage to obtain somewhat of an incandescent white.  Where would I go to do that in xLights?

Thanks!

Don

Use the On effect for a ramp.  It has a Start Intensity and End Intensity setting which allows you to create any ramp you like.  For a specific color click on the color palette and change the color to any color you like.  It will open a color picker dialog and you can create a custom color with any red, green, blue values you like.

Thanks.  I had trouble finding the color palette, but I eventually did.

I can't seem to get the ramps to cooperate. It seems that I have to increase the cycle count to get it to work?

You only use cycle count if you want it to fade up or down more than once for the length of the effect.  Normally it should be 1.0.
