Is this possible?
« on: January 17, 2014, 02:09:07 AM »
Hello.

I have a big pixel clock that I am trying to get to work in nutcracker/xlights.

Now, I "think" I have the set up correct. So let's assume that I do.

When I go to the Nutcracker Tab and click on Model and select my clock, I get a much smaller screen. And the custom model editor display 15 pixels square. My model is 128 high and 48 wide. Is there a way to resize that screen so I can fit the whole pixel grid in the window?

Secondly, of course my clock does not have an "easy" layout. If I run 2 instances of nutcracker/xlights will they interfere with one another? They both have the same channel layout, but I need one open to modify my clock pixel arrangement and one open to "test" each pixel to make sure I am where I think I am in the grid. (because what I wrote down and the actual arrangement are two completely different things.......)

Thank you,
Eric

You can do your layout with numbering (1 thru whatever) in Excel and Copy/Paste into the Custom Grid.

I just did a 12 x 19 grid in Excel, incrementing the numbers around the perimeter, then the next inner row.
I copied from A1 to L19, then pasted into a Custom model of 12x19. (there is a Paste button at the top)

Perfect!!

Wishing I had realized the paste was there yesterday. I made a grid in excel, saved as a csv, edited to add the semicolons and remove the newlines, and pasted into the rgblights xml file. Would have saved me a few steps lol
