Possible? Piano key models
« on: September 24, 2015, 12:50:38 PM »
Last year I sequenced everything in Vixen3.  I'm familiar with Xlights4 and would like to make the switch, but had a big question on whether or not I'd be able to replicate my 'piano effect' in Xlights4.

My roof is 14 strands of 50nodes.  In Vixen3 I was able to define models across the different strands to create models for each black/white key (see below). See the following video, https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=fCS0VfoX5NY

Is there any way to create these types of models within Xlights4?

Hi , you can Crete a custom model, you define the grid in xl , with the numbers and then copy and paste it into the custom model definition.

How would you sequnce the effect though ie manually ?

Nice effects !

Xl also has a piano effect and Sean posted a video on  how to use it, but I could not get it to work similar to the effect in your video.

I'll have to play around with the creation of custom models using the grid.

Yes, I sequenced all of the 'keystrokes' manually last year.  It wasn't the easiest thing in the world, but it turned out nice. See below for an example.

I've always been under the impression that it wasn't entirely completed or functional.

I have had my roof set up as one big horizontal matrix.  I don't see how I would be able to define my custom model for this application.  How would I define different nodes across different strands to create each 'key'?
