Desperately need help
« on: November 07, 2015, 12:29:42 PM »
Looking for as much help as possible and am willing to pay if needed.

Going from a large lor show to convo of pixels and lor

Layout is

Pixels using sans e6804's
Roof outline
Window outline

Dumb dmx nodes using a 3ch dmx controller for each tree
Mini trees

Lor
Arches all white
Reindeer and Santa on roof.
2 x 4' wreaths. Red , green, white
Mega tree red, green, white 64 strands each color 192 ch's total
Bed outlines 4 beds each with 3 ch's red, green, white

If I end up with enough extra pics bulbs I will either do the wreaths or the bed outlines.

I also have a video projector wreath made if I can get the video element sequenced in.

Next year I plan to convert the mega tree. And possibly the arches to pixels.

Looking for as much help or as little as someone can provide. Need help getting the layout and channel configuration done.  Or even help with sequencing if possible.

I have a handful of songs in lor i have used the past few years.  Wasn't sure how easy / hard it would be to convert them over.

The layout should be easier that it was in LOR, the channel config should not be to bad - just get started and then ask for help.  There are two good videos and probably more that I am aware of for converting from LOR.  You might look for leechburg lights and andy harrison on youtube.com

Add you location to your profile and to your signature.  You just might find someone near you that you can visit.

Thanks for the reply

I am of Celina, TX which is just north of dallas

couple questions to start with from today

when i went to setup to add my LOR channels before importing it said the max was 96 ch's what, or how should i go about it since i am still going to have many more than 98. i figure i will have around 240 LOR ch's

in the model window does output refer to the order each line is listed in the setup tab?

When adding display elements the rgb pixels i get. how do i add the following types

arch's that will be white with 5 seperate strands ran from lor. i assume i use single color white, nd use 5 for the segments per arch, but what do i use for the # light per segment?

On my bed outlines which are strings of red, green, white per bed so 3 LOR ch's how do i set those up in the model? how many lights per string do i put in?   am i best to add 3 display models per bed? one green one red and one white and them just space them on the layout window together?

on my mega tree do i basically do the same as i would on the beds?

I believe the 96 is a limitiation of using the LOR protocol instead of DMX.  Most folks who have been doing this run their LOR boxes in DMX mode.  No change to the boxes, but a simple cable adapter is needed.

Output refers to if you want to use universe and channel within universe numbering instead of absolute number.  Time for you to start looking at the manual.

When modeling single strand lights the number of nodes/lights can be anything you want and will just impact the visualizer.

Other folks may chime

GET THE MANUAL, it will answer a lot of your questions.  It can be downloaded the same place you get the software from.

The Wiki has a section on tutorials  and the LOR related ones are grouped together.
Also the Convert tab with verbose option 'prints' a channel mapping.

Also look at the two different ways of importing effects ie via a data layer or via the Import Effects option.
