Let the Madness Begin
« on: January 18, 2016, 06:43:07 PM »
I have been a busy boy researching next year's list. I appreciate those that have reached out and shared ideas. The only thing that sucks about all this preparation is it takes me away from playing in Nutcracker but you need to have a foundation. I can't wait to place my orders with HC for pixels strings and some DIY props.

I plan to use RGB nodes 3" spacing for rooflines, windows, 4-8 chromaflakes, garage, 9 mini trees, mega tree(16 strand) and 10' arches. I am still on the fence with what I will use to wire all. I prefer not to solder but 3 wire pigtail extensions could get expensive. What a rush!

I'm back....LOL
soldering.... Soldering 2 wires together is not that bad. In truth it is quite simple.  Wire need to be clean, twist together put the solder on the tip of the gun  not the wire. The solder will transfer the heat to the wire. If you try to heat the wire with the tip of the gun it just does not work.  But in a pinch, fixing some wires in the winter here I just used Dolphin DC-100S Super B Connector w/Sealant . look up on Amazon. at camp that's all I used for all of my dumb RGBs. yes I'm well lit.

Thanks for the tip. I am now up to 34,500 channels in my layout. I've added a 2300 node matrix and 32 string Mega Tree. I'll need one to two more Falcon boards now and 3,500+ pixels. I am planning 3" spacing on all runs except matrix where I will go with 2". I'll share my layout once finished. I was sharing some effects set to music for my wife and kids tonight. They went nuts! Questions for you: When adding a 2nd Falcon I assume I can tell it to start with what ever Universe I want if I have maxes out the first controller. Thouhts?

Yes You can tell the controller what universe to start with  But the first one does not have to be maxed out to get into the second. What goes on each controller will be depend on the placement of the controllers with in your yard. A lot to think about. Shorter the runs the better.     LOL you got the bug........
