Model Group changes?
« on: January 25, 2016, 08:09:15 PM »
Hello all,

I have run into something that I hope I can explain so that it's understandable.

Last year I had a Model Group of all the pixels on my house.  I used to just add it as a display element and drop effects onto it.  I went tonight (version 4.3.02) and used the same technique I used dozens of times last year and added the house model group as a display element under the timing track.  I dropped an effect onto it and when I bring up the model preview....the effect is TINY...TINY....TINY....like I'm looking at it from 5 blocks away instead of standing in my yard....the model it really small.

If I go back and add the individual elements 1 at a time the size is normal.

Did something change in the software or am I just losing my mind AGAIN.... ;D

Can I fix this to work with a model group instead of having to list every single window, eve, door under the timing track.

Also....I went back and brought up a sequence saved last year and it breaks my house model down into all the elements individually....Is there a new toggle some place that I'm just not aware of?

UPDATE: OK....Started back up and now I am able to enter my old model group but when I open a sequence saved last year it still breaks the model group down into individual pieces/parts...

Thanks....SC

If you double click the row heading of a model group then yes it expands to show you all the parts that make up the group and allows you to sequence on the pieces.  But you can still place effects on the group.  You need to do a 3 day xLights cleanse and get HLS out of your system. :)

Good one Gil....  I'll have to come up with a way to repay!  ;D

Thanks for the response....I found the expand feature.... Still not sure why when I open a sequence saved last year it doesn't bring my model in instead of all the pieces/parts.  I can work around that though if necessary....

Was it one of the old style "Whole House Models"?  I'm not sure what happens when you open a file that contains one of those.  I know we don't let you create them anymore but I don't know what we do if you open an old file with one of those.

Thanks Gil....

Ya know....it could have been one of those since this tune was one of the first ones I sequenced with the new beta releases.... Although I did come late to the new software beta versions I do recall WHM and using that for a while...just didn't remember which tunes I had used it on...So that's probably the reason....  I just ran across one of those WHM sequences......I didn't think of that....
