F16v2 (DMX out) and Lynx Express v5
« on: January 27, 2016, 07:12:49 PM »
Hi all, I've been running all rgb for a couple years now and used three F16v2s in my display this past Christmas, including one of them outputting DMX for some Ray Wu RGB Floods.  This week I picked up a Lynx Express v5 controller off of diyla.  I plugged in the LE and used a standard Cat5e cable from the Serial 2 Output of a F16v2 to the DMX In on the LE.  I used the buttons on the LE to set the start channel to 001, made sure the serial output 2 start channel was set to 1 on the F16v2 (running version 1.04) and set up a single channel model in xLights with channel 1 (used type of string single color white).  I turned on xLights output and tried both the On effect and the DMX effect but couldn't get the AC string plugged in to LE port 1 to light up. I tried the test pattern on the LE and I know the output works (AC light string turns on and off and blinks according to test pattern).  I have other rgb lights hooked up to the F16v2 and can control them successfully. Thoughts?

As a test I would try moving the E1.31 universe you are using for the serial output to be after all the other outputs you are using on the board.  I ran into a problem with one of mine when I used a universe that was a smaller number and started first.  I thought I saw a message about this issue but I know I can't find it now.  If that works then maybe we ask Dave.
